Accessibility statement.

§ 1.0Our commitment

An event organizer using assistive technology should be able to do everything an organizer using a mouse and a 27-inch monitor can do. A participant in a wheelchair should be able to register, check in to checkpoints, and upload photo challenges from the same mobile app a sighted runner uses. We don't always get there yet — but we publish where we are, and our roadmap to closing the gaps.

§ 2.0Conformance status

WayHopper conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA with the partial exceptions noted in § 4. We also test against EN 301 549 (the EU public-sector accessibility standard) and the ADA for our US customers.

Independent audits are commissioned annually by Tetralogical (London) and Deque (US). The most recent audit was 2026-Q1; full report available under NDA to enterprise customers.

§ 3.0What works well

• Full keyboard operability across the marketing site and dashboard, including the operator console.
• Visible focus indicators on every interactive element (2px outline, 3:1 contrast).
• Color contrast ≥ 4.5:1 for body text, ≥ 3:1 for large text and UI components.
• Semantic landmarks — every page uses <header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer> appropriately.
• Screen-reader labels on all controls, including the map dashboard (live ARIA regions for leaderboard updates).
• Prefers-reduced-motion respected — pulse animations, marquee, and ring effects all disable when set.
• Captions on every demo video on wayhopper.com and inside the product help center.
• Resizable text up to 200% without loss of content or function.

§ 4.0Known gaps

We're transparent about what's broken. Each gap below has a JIRA ticket and a target fix date.

§ 5.0Remediation roadmap

• Q2 2026 — close the leaderboard sort-indicator gap; replace the pricing toggle with a proper radio group.
• Q3 2026 — ship a keyboard reorder mode for checkpoint drag-and-drop.
• Q3 2026 — retag the back-catalogue case-study PDFs.
• Q4 2026 — annual external audit by Tetralogical; publish gap analysis.

§ 6.0Assistive technology we test against

The following combinations are part of our pre-release test matrix:

• Screen readers: NVDA 2025.x (Firefox / Chrome on Windows), JAWS 2025 (Chrome on Windows), VoiceOver (Safari on macOS 15 + iOS 18), TalkBack (Chrome on Android 14+).
• Speech-to-text: Dragon NaturallySpeaking 16, Voice Control on macOS & iOS.
• Magnification: ZoomText 2025, native browser zoom up to 400%.
• Switch control: iOS Switch Control. Single-switch scanning tested quarterly.

§ 7.0Keyboard & shortcuts

Operator dashboard keyboard shortcuts (also documented in the help center):

• ? — open shortcut overlay
• G then M — go to Map view
• G then L — go to Leaderboard view
• G then P — go to Photos queue
• / — focus search
• Esc — close any modal / popover

All shortcuts can be remapped in Account → Accessibility → Shortcuts.

§ 8.0Report a barrier

If you hit a barrier we haven't listed, please tell us. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to either fix or provide a workaround within 10 business days.

§ 9.0Formal feedback & complaints

If our response isn't good enough, you can escalate to:

• Australia — Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC).
• United States — file an ADA complaint with the Department of Justice.
• EU — your national supervisory authority under EN 301 549.
• United Kingdom — Equality and Human Rights Commission.
