Interactive Event Maps for Routes, Stops, and Live Check-Ins

Maps are the foundation of every WayHopper event — route pins, stop order, geo-radius validation with QR + GPS check-in, and embeddable public maps.

What it actually does

Multiple jobs, one map engine.

Most event tools embed a map widget. WayHopper's map is the product — every other feature lives on top of it.

Pin & route stops

Drop unlimited stops, drag to reorder, auto-route the path between. Edit in the same view your participants will see.

QR + GPS check-ins

Set a geo radius around each stop. Participants scan the stop QR; WayHopper validates they are inside the radius. The app supports offline check-ins when signal drops.

Live check-in progress

Watch joins and check-ins update as the day runs. Spot quiet stops early and push reminders from the organizer portal.

Participant check-ins

Let participants confirm stops, complete milestones, and keep event progress updated across the route.

Three modes, one map

The same map before, during, and after your event.

Plan it in plain English.

Drop pins by clicking, drag to reorder, type stop names inline. Auto-route between them in driving, walking, or cycling mode.

  • Unlimited stops per event, drag-to-reorder
  • Auto-routing in driving / walking / cycling profiles
  • Per-stop arrival windows and time gates
  • Save and reuse routes across recurring events
  • Preview exactly what participants will see
DRAFT · UNPUBLISHED

See your event happen.

Check-ins land on the route as players scan QR + pass GPS. Organizers moderate photos, send reminders, and watch progress from the portal.

  • QR + GPS validated check-ins at each stop
  • Offline check-ins in the app when signal drops
  • Photo rules and moderation when you require proof
  • Push / in-app reminders and broadcasts
  • Public results and media pages when you share them
● LIVE · 142 ACTIVE

Find your bottlenecks.

After the event, use check-in history, results, and photo galleries to plan a better next route—then copy the event or reuse a game template.

  • Check-in history and stop completion
  • Poker rankings or scavenger leaderboards
  • Moderated photo galleries and slideshows
  • Public results pages you can share
  • Copy-event / template reuse for the next date

FAQ

Map questions.

More in the developer docs, or talk to our team.

What map provider do you use?

WayHopper uses reliable Google Maps infrastructure to power event maps, stops, and routes.

Does it work without internet at the stop?

The WayHopper app supports offline check-ins: take a photo at the stop and finish check-in once you’re back online. That is not a fully offline maps / offline-first event mode.

Do players check in by walking into a geofence?

No. Players scan the stop QR; GPS confirms they are inside the stop’s geo radius. There is no auto-check-in without QR.

Can I brand the map?

Event branding appears on public event pages, materials, and in-app event details. WayHopper does not offer separate white-label map apps or custom domains as a product promise.

What can I review after the event?

Check-in history, results/leaderboards, and moderated photo galleries—then copy the event or reuse a game template for the next date. GPX replay exports are not a documented product feature.

Is day-of play browser-primary?

No. QR + GPS check-in is only possible through the WayHopper iOS/Android app. Web covers browsing, tickets, and public maps.
