It's not a wristband and a prayer. It's a passport — buy once, check in at every bar, and see who's ahead on the crawl. — what a sold-out pub crawl actually is
The crawl journey

Five beats to a full night.

From ticket purchase to last-call leaderboard — here's how WayHopper runs a multi-venue pub crawl.

TIX

Buy the passport

One ticket covers the whole crawl. Stripe Checkout collects payment; organizers get paid through Stripe Connect after the event under platform payout rules.

MAP

See the route

Every venue is a pin with hours and stop details. Crawlers know where they're headed before doors open.

SCAN

Check in at each bar

Players scan the stop QR; GPS confirms they are there. The WayHopper app supports offline check-ins when signal drops.

SPON

Sponsor stops

Add branded checkpoints alongside bar stops—participants check in the same way (QR + GPS), and you get per-stop traffic data for partners.

TOP

Climb the board

Points for stops visited, photo challenges, and time bonuses. The leaderboard keeps the crowd moving between venues.

The old way vs. WayHopper

Stop running crawls on wristbands.

The wristband way

Saturday night, everyone's in line.

  • Paper wristbands that tear, fade, or get shared
  • POS bottleneck at stop one — 40 minutes to get a beer
  • No way to prove someone hit all seven venues
  • Volunteers with clipboards at every door
  • Sponsor value proved on trust, not check-in data
  • Zero insight into which bars got the traffic
The WayHopper way

One passport. One app. One night.

  • Digital passport shows verified check-ins — no counterfeits
  • Pre-sold tickets yield efficiency
  • Live progress: 4 of 7 stops, completed
  • QR + GPS check-ins in the WayHopper app
  • Per-stop check-in counts for sponsors and venues
  • CSV exports for sponsors and venues
Routes, tickets, features & more
Venue route

The whole district on one trail.

Drop pins on bars, breweries, and sponsor stops. Crawlers see walking times, open windows, and stop details on one route. The same map engine powers poker runs and yard sales — tuned for nightlife.

Ticket tiers

General, VIP, or sponsor bundle.

Most crawls sell a single passport. Add early-entry VIP or a sponsor-branded ticket tier — all on one event, one dashboard.

Everything crawl organizers actually need.

Digital venue passports

One ticket unlocks the whole crawl. Check-in progress visible in the WayHopper app — no paper wristbands.

QR + GPS

Scan at the venue; WayHopper validates the geo radius. Offline check-ins in the app when cell service drops—finish once back online.

Sponsor stops

Add branded checkpoints on the same route as bar stops. Participants check in with QR + GPS; you export per-stop counts for partner reports.

Live leaderboards

Points for stops visited, photo challenges, and time bonuses. Keeps the crowd moving instead of camped at stop one.

Ticketing & payouts

Stripe Checkout for tickets; Stripe Connect pays the organizer share after the event clears eligibility.

Venue & sponsor reports

Check-in counts per bar, and CSV exports — so every partner sees the foot traffic they bought into.

FAQ

Pub crawl questions.

More in our help center, or talk to an organizer who's run a sold-out crawl.

Do crawlers need to download an app?

For day-of QR + GPS check-in, yes—the iOS/Android WayHopper app is the home for play. Crawlers can still browse and buy tickets on the web. The app supports offline check-ins when signal drops—they finish the stop once they’re back online.

How do venue check-ins work?

Players scan the stop QR; GPS confirms they are inside the geo radius. That’s the same check-in model as hunts and poker runs—not browser-primary auto-check-in, and not a separate drink-check-in engine.

Can we include sponsor stops?

Yes. Add sponsor-branded locations as regular stops on the route. Participants check in the same way (QR + GPS in the app), and you get per-stop traffic data for renewal decks—no separate perk-redemption workflow.

What about ID verification and age gates?

WayHopper surfaces age attestation at ticket purchase. Venue staff still verify ID on-site — the platform doesn’t replace local liquor law compliance.

Can multiple bars co-organize one crawl?

Yes. One organizer publishes the multi-stop event; venues can be stops on the route, and on supported open events partners can add locations through the Location Entry Portal under your rules.

How do ticket payouts work?

For paid crawls, connect Stripe Connect Express. WayHopper collects ticket payments, then transfers the organizer share after the event under platform payout rules. Exact platform fees are on Pricing—not a “0% take” promise here.
