PLATFORM 04 · COMMUNITY YARD SALES

Every driveway on one map.

WayHopper turns a scattered weekend of yard sales into one open multi-stop trail — mapped locations, seller-added stops via the Location Entry Portal, and shoppers checking in as they go. Organizers publish once; the whole county shops from one app.

It's not a list of addresses in a PDF. It's the hunt — map, directions, what's for sale, which days they're open. — what a community yard sale weekend actually is
The shopper journey

Five stops to a full weekend.

From flyer chaos to a single map — here's how WayHopper runs a multi-neighborhood yard sale.

FREE

Shoppers find your event on the web directory or scan a QR. One tap to join on the app.

MAP

Every sale is a pin with photos, description, and which days the sale is open.

Turn-by-turn

Built-in directions from sale to sale — no copying addresses into Google Maps.

CHECK

Check in along the trail

Where check-in is enabled, shoppers scan with QR + GPS. The WayHopper app supports offline check-ins when a driveway has poor signal.

The old way vs. WayHopper

Stop printing 400 flyers.

The flyer way

Saturday morning, everyone's lost.

  • PDF map with 38 pins, no turn-by-turn
  • Addresses wrong when a seller moves their sale
  • No way to know which day a driveway is open
  • Organizer fielding "where is #22?" texts all day
  • Zero data on which neighborhoods got traffic
  • Last-minute sellers miss the printed list
The WayHopper way

One map. One app. One weekend.

  • Open-event trail with photos, descriptions, and hours per stop
  • Sellers add stops through the Location Entry Portal
  • Organizer sets location limits, approvals, and waivers
  • Shoppers browse the map and check in where enabled
  • App supports offline check-ins when signal drops
  • QR on the main sign → join from the curb
Interactive map

The whole county on one board.

Drop pins on driveways, community centers, and thrift stops. Shoppers filter by day, neighborhood, or "open now." The same map engine powers poker runs and pub crawls — tuned for sale listings.

Multi-day scheduling

Not every sale runs all four days.

Tag each location with open days — Thu only, Fri–Sat, or the full weekend. Shoppers see only what's open when they're out.

Built for community sale weekends

Everything organizers actually need.

Location Entry Portal

Rotary, chamber, or city publishes the open event; sellers and venues add their own stops instead of you typing every driveway.

Limits, approvals & waivers

Set location limits, required photos/approvals, and waiver text so the trail stays organized as sellers join.

Per-stop hours & details

Hours, descriptions, and photos on every pin — shoppers decide before they drive.

Check-ins along the trail

Where enabled, shoppers check in with QR + GPS. The WayHopper app supports offline check-ins when a stop has poor signal.

QR join from yard signs

Print one code for the whole event — shoppers scan from the curb and land on your live map.

Announce / close when you’re done

Open and yard-sale events don’t time-auto-close like poker or scavenger runs — announce or close when the weekend is over.

FAQ

Yard sale questions.

More in our help center, or talk to an organizer who's run a city-wide sale.

Can sellers add their own driveway?

Yes. On supported open events, enable the Location Entry Portal so sellers and venues add their own stops. You keep control with location limits, photo/approval rules, and waiver text.

Do shoppers need to download an app?

For day-of check-in where it’s enabled, yes—the iOS/Android WayHopper app is the home for that experience. Shoppers can still browse the event and map on the web. The app supports offline check-ins when signal drops.

How do hours and stop details work?

Each location can carry hours, description, and photos. Shoppers browse the route and see what’s open before they drive across town.

Can we charge an entry or location fee?

Yes when configured—registration cost for the event and optional location fees through the portal. Exact platform fee amounts depend on your plan and checkout display; we don’t invent a blanket percentage here.

How does the weekend end?

Unlike poker or scavenger events that can auto-close after end time, open / yard-sale events use announce / close when you want a hard end.

Will our event appear on the public directory?

When you publish, it can list on the WayHopper events page with type, date, and location filters — so treasure hunters find you before weekend morning.

Map your county's next sale weekend.

Free to start. Most rotary and chamber organizers publish their first multi-stop sale in under an hour.
