Event Check-In with GPS and QR Validation
Create reusable locations, assign them to events with sort order and geo radius, choose QR or GPS check-in type, and keep day-of play fair — without paper scorecards.
Locations once. Events many times.
Locations are your reusable stop library. Events assign those stops with per-event rules like sequence, points, cards, and radius.
Location library
Save name, address, coordinates, hours, photos, and badges. Search and reuse stops across events.
Assign to the route
Add stops to an event, set sort order, mandatory vs optional, card/points flags, and per-stop timetable.
Geo radius rules
Set the distance window for valid check-ins. Optionally widen acceptance on specific stops when GPS needs more forgiveness.
QR materials
Generate stop and event QR codes for printing and posting. Keep a failsafe Master QR handy for day-of recovery.
Configure how players prove they showed up.
Players scan in the WayHopper app; GPS confirms they are at the stop.
Pick check-in type
Choose QR Code or GPS orientation when you create the event—day-of UX still follows your stop QR, radius, and rules.
Set sequence when needed
Force order for classic poker-style runs; loosen it for freer routes.
Publish with confidence
Materials and geo rules are ready before riders arrive.
Plan for dead spots
The WayHopper app supports offline check-ins when signal drops—players photo, continue, and finish online.
Players see this on their phones.
Day-of play lives in the WayHopper participant app. Share the player view with your riders and hunters.
// What participants do { "discover": "events near you", "join": "ticket or keycode", "check_in": "QR + GPS", "share": "photos & badges" }
Works across every WayHopper event type.
What’s the difference between Locations and Events?
Locations are your reusable stop library. Events are dated experiences that assign those stops with per-event rules.
What is geo radius?
The distance window around a stop where a participant’s GPS must fall for check-in to succeed.
Do players auto-check-in by walking into a fence?
No. Players scan the stop QR; GPS confirms they are inside the radius. There is no auto-check-in without the scan path your event uses.
Is a wider check-in radius the same as Master QR?
No. You can optionally widen geo acceptance on a specific stop when GPS needs more forgiveness. Event-level Master QR is a separate day-of failsafe check-in code.
